CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
– TYLER BARBERIS

Tyler’s areas of interest include personality and characterological challenges, especially where they lead to difficulties with effectively addressing feelings and where they translate into difficulties in relationships.

He’s registered as an independent practitioner with the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa), the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council of the United Kingdom).
He has extensive experience working with psychological challenges gained from a decade of individual, group, family, couple, and other psychological therapies in various settings including the Gauteng District Clinics, Correctional Services, hospitals including Leratong, Baragwanath, Charlotte Maxeke, and Tara, and providing psychotherapy in the context of private practice.
Tyler practices psychodynamic psychotherapy, which aims to facilitate and support effective self-expression and a deep knowledge of self, others, and healthy relating. He believes that the heart of therapy lies in a warm, knowledgeable, compassionate, and human relationship with someone who has a genuine interest in well-being and personal development.
