Clinical Psychologist

Practice Number: PS0127981

I am a registered clinical psychologist with the HPCSA. I provide therapy for adults, adolescents, and children as well as doing couples and group therapy. As a clinical psychologist I am trained to deal with severe and debilitating diagnoses such as Major Depression, Anxiety Disorders, and Bipolar Disorders as well as to work with issues such as bereavement, self-harm, eating disorders and suicide. I have experience in a range of different settings.

Therapy is not only a place for those with severe difficulties but also who simply wish to grow, feel happier, and improve relationships. I am psychodynamically trained which means that I am able to also work with more general, but equally important, aspects of development such as life transitions, personal development, relationship problems and in assisting you with finding meaning and satisfaction in life. My aim is to help you understand and overcome obstacles in your life that leave you feeling stressed, afraid, or unfulfilled. I tailor each therapy to the individual client and their unique needs. If there is something I cannot help with I make every effort to ensure that I can find another professional to assist you and I work closely with others to ensure my skills and approach are always at their peak. My belief is that therapy should not be a scary or traumatic experience and I aim to make my clients as comfortable as possible whilst not avoiding the difficult truths or important discoveries that could assist them. I am fully open to having a client come and try as session or two to decide if they would like to work with me before they commit.

I also run therapy and support groups. If you are not sure if you would like individual or group therapy we can discuss this and decide collaboratively which would suit your needs best.
