I am extremely passionate about children, and worked primarily with children and their families over the last six years. I specialise in the evaluation and treatment of children with development delay and neurological conditions, where each child receives individualised care based on their needs, and parents are educated in how to support their children to reach their optimal potential. My approach is family-centred, holistic and evidence-based.

I qualified with BSc Physiotherapy from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2011. I then completed my one year community service at Rahima Moosa Mother and Child hospital, where I stayed on as a permanent therapist for an additional two years. I then went into private practice in 2015, and spent some time working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Paediatric wards in in various hospitals. I completed my NDT (Neurodevelopmental Therapy) training in 2014 and my MAES (Movement/Analysis/Education/Strategies) training in 2016.

My treatment approach is premised upon creating a comfortable and safe environment, where children are challenged to reach their goals whilst having fun. Families play an integral part in the therapy process, and teachers and other therapists are involved throughout as required. Ultimately, my purpose is to ensure that every child I treat is able to reach their optimal potential, and as a result are more efficient, independent, and confident when performing their functional tasks/activities.

The conditions I treat include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Developmental Delay
  • Congenital/Genetic conditions
  • Neurological conditions including cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries and strokes
  • High risk infants including premature babies
  • Orthopaedic conditions including fractures and deformities
  • Respiratory physiotherapy for a variety of chest conditions (This is offered after hours depending on availability, balance and co-ordination difficulties
  • Autism and related spectrum disorders
  • Developmental screenings at Schools
Early intervention in fundamental as it provides the child with the best opportunity to improve. Physiotherapy treatment can begin at any ae, but the earlier it starts, the quicker progress is made, and the easier it is t gain the best possible outcome.

I consult at The Baby Child Wellness Centre in Bryanston, and treat children at various schools in and around the Bryanston area.
